הקטנת תמונה בעת העלאתה

שבוע טוב,
אני כרגע בתיכנון מערכת ואתר.
כחלק מהמערכת המשתמשים יכולים להעלות תמונות לאתר,
שאלתי היא, האם ניתן להקטין את רזולוצית התמונה בעת העלאתה ובכך לתפוס פחות מקום

[כי כשמעלים תמונה ממצלמה בעלת רזולוציה גדולה, הגודל של(מ"ב, ורוחב טאורך) גדול - ואין לי צורך בזה]

*אני מדבר על להקטין תמונה נגיד מ 1589*8798 ל 250*450 (סתם מספרים..)

זה נקרא resize חפש על זה ברשת
